  • Certified Farmers Markets are an important part of local food production. They allow small producers to directly market their food to consumers while assuring the purchaser that the food is produced and maintained to an enforced standard
  • In the certified section, you have to grow/make what you sell.
  • A Certified Farmers' Market does not imply that the farmers are certified organic, only that the producers have certified they grow what they sell.
  • If you want to sell produce, you need to get an annual Producer's Certificate, available from the AG Department in Lakeport.
  • To use the label 'Organic', a producer has to be registered with the AG Department and produce only a limited amount.
  • To use the label 'Certified Organic', a producer has to be registered with the AG Department and obtain a third party certification.
  • Agricultural Producers may sell for another provided they are listed on each other's Producer's Certificate and their own volume is greater. Employees are permitted.
  • Out of County Producers may only sell what is not readily available in Lake County.
  • Artists and Crafters may only sell high quality items of their own production. Employees are not permitted.
  • Priority is given to vendors growing food, then to those who create value added products from agricultural produce, and finally everyone else.
  • LCFF is a non profit membership organization. Stall/booth fees are used to cover management of the markets, insurance and overhead. Memberships and logo item sales help support outreach efforts, and discretionary spending in support of LCFF's mission.
  • A LCFF membership is not required to participate as a vendor at any of our Certified Farmers' Markets, but membership dues help us provide consistent support during the whole year.
  • Booth location is based on your space requirements, type of product, and general traffic flow. Certified producers, non-certified producers, arts & craft vendors, and food vendors are separated per state requirements.
  • Musicians play for tips only and we encourage all vendors to support our musicians as they provide ambiance for our customers to spend more time at the market. These do not need to be in monetary form, produce and other goodies are also very much appreciated.
  • Each market requires a separate registration.
  • Certified Farmers' Markets are regulated by the State and certified by the AG department.
